Stefan Kurt

Stefan Kurt is a Swiss actor who has appeared in over 50 films and stage productions with renowned theater directors such as Robert Wilson, Jürgen Flimm, and Barbara Frey. From 1985 until 1933 he was an Ensemble member at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. In 1995, he acheived a breaktthrough with his role with in the German television thriller “Der Schattenmann,” for which he received his first Adolf Grimme prize in 1997. His more recent films include the award-winning Vier Minuten (2006) and The Foster Boy (2011). Kurt is currently a member of the Berliner Ensemble, where he has recently portrayed Macheath in Robert Wilson’s production of The Threepenny Opera and Captain Cook in Wilson’s Peter Pan. In 2014, he appeared in Barbara Frey’s production of Chekhov’s Three Sisters at the Schauspielhaus Zurich.
